Veara - What We Left Behind

myspace.com/veara

Veara is a four-piece band including a girl drummer (girl power!), produced by Jeremy McKinnon of A Day To Remember. They released “What We Left Behind” in May. Yes, I am very behind on this band but this is my blog and I get to write about whatever I want. (insert big smile)

Hey Monday, Beneath It All

Hey Monday - Beneath It All

Hey Monday released their new EP, “Beneath It All” on August 17th. I have been reading a lot on them lately and a lot of controversy and drama has appeared in discussions about the future of the band. I’d like to state my opinion on some of the issues surrounding them.

Also, I’m giving away a couple copies of the record. Just leave a comment on your thoughts about anything in this post and I’ll pick two winners to win a copy of the LP on Monday.

No, that’s not Justin Timberlake – that’s Mike Posner! They do look very similar, don’t they?

You must have heard Posner’s song, “Cooler Than Me” by now or you might have seen him on Warped Tour. He’s been featured on mtv.com, playstation network, sirius radio, aol radio and 100 other outlets, all in preparation for his record that was just released on August 16th, 31 Minutes to Takeoff.

Want to win a copy of 31 Minutes to Takeoff and a Mike Posner poster? Read more for instructions.

I was a huge Mayday Parade fan during the Summer of 2009, so when I found out Go Radio’s singer was Mayday Parade’s ex-singer, I had to give them a listen.

The Adventures of Bobby Ray

May 2, 2010

I haven’t heard a Hip-Hop record in a while that I can genuinely say “THIS IS DAMN GOOD.” Well, THIS IS DAMN GOOD!I’ll admit, I didn’t know who B.o.B was or that he had any attachment to the hit single blowing up the radio stations, “Nothin’ On You.” That is until I heard [...]

Just a taste: “My Last Semester”
Concept album from a pop punk band?  Kind of.

I’ve been a little behind on my pop/punk bands but I’m slowly catching up.  After falling in love with This Time Next Year, I realized I needed to give The Wonder Years a spin because I have seen “I’m Not Sad Anymore” [...]

Listen to Almost Alice Soundtrack

February 18, 2010

I’m definitely stoked to see “Alice in Wonderland”.  I feel like it’s been talked about and promoted for forever now and I’m getting impatient.  Songs are leaking off of the soundtrack and it just causes more anxiety.  I haven’t been a fan of a soundtrack since Garden State (sounds typical, I know).  This is going [...]
